About Hidden Sydney
Discovering the extraordinary in the everyday since 2018
Our Story
Hidden Sydney was born from a chance discovery in 2018 when urban archaeologist Dr. Elena Vasquez stumbled upon a forgotten underground chamber beneath Sydney's bustling CBD while researching historical city planning documents. What started as academic curiosity quickly evolved into something much more meaningful.
Together with photographer Marcus Chen and local historian James Fitzgerald, Elena began systematically documenting and exploring Sydney's hidden spaces. They discovered that beneath the surface of Australia's most famous city lay an intricate network of forgotten tunnels, abandoned buildings, secret gardens, and overlooked architectural marvels that told the real story of Sydney's evolution.
After three years of careful research and exploration, the team realized they had uncovered enough hidden gems to completely transform how people experience Sydney. In 2021, Hidden Sydney officially launched as a specialized tour company dedicated to revealing these extraordinary places that exist parallel to the conventional tourist experience.
Our approach is different from traditional tourism. We don't just show you places – we reveal stories, uncover mysteries, and provide access to spaces that most Sydneysiders don't even know exist. Every route we design is carefully researched, historically verified, and personally explored by our team to ensure authenticity and safety.
